Alexandrian Parrot.






Alexandrian parrot (Psittacula eupatria) is the  largest of the parakeet in Sri Lanka. Sub species eupatria is resident of Sri Lanka. This green bird is with a blue grey sheen on its cheek. Both sexes shows a maroon  patch at the top of their wing. Adult male has a black neck ring and large pink  band on the nape. The Alexandrine parakeet's call is a powerful screech. Breeding season is from November to April in nest is built on tree hollows. Nest will consist  two to four eggs.
